“When I was old enough to understand, I was told that my name, Jedidah, literally meant ‘beloved’ in Hebrew or Aramaic. You’d think that would make a person puffed up, but it had the opposite effect on me; and I lived my whole life not only trying to get people to say it right, but also trying to be worthy of being beloved. That looked like so many things, but mostly cemented into my soul what I now know is called the ‘cycle of works.’
But the last 9 months with you gave me the opportunity to slow down in order to receive God’s love - to accept my belovedness. And I will tell you, it has knocked my socks off. Thank you for accepting me into Praxis in order to just be ’Jedidah.’
